[When the video turns on it's to a very displeased looking man, and apparently one who doesn't realize he just triggered the video function. He regardes the screen suspiciously for a few moments before huffing a sigh and just dropping his hand to his side. Everyone gets an exciting view of the dirt of field as he walks.]

This- this is too temperamental for Masyaf. If- [He freezes when something rustles. Oh look, a friendly scarecrow! Malik drops the dreamberry, making the view only of the scarecrow hobbling up. There's the ominous sound of a small blade being unsheathed.] What foul sorcery is this?

[Apparently the scarecrow has some fruit it wants to share, but by Malik's tone it doesn't sound like coming closer will be good for the scarecrow's health.]

[Cesare thinks waking up in a flooded field was, just maybe, preferable to facing moving scarecrows. He feels for you, man. He looks and sounds irritated on Malik's behalf.]

You will find such sorcery and worse is commonplace here, difficult as that is to fathom.

It gave me an apple. [He does not sound pleased in the slightest at this. Obviously this apple was full of witchcraft or something he didn't want to fathom. He glances a little testily at the dreamberry. He really didn't trust these things at all B( ]

New- yes. I have been told I am in a world of dreams, and truly that must have some truth in it as everything I have yet seen can only be the product of the mind. [he glares over at the scarecrows hanging around happily.] A warped mind, perhaps.

Cesare gives a put-upon sigh and tucks some hair behind his ear.]

Part of my mind still instructs me on the fallacy of this entire place and that I am, in actuality, dreaming it all. What is real and what is not? Does it matter? I am beginning to wonder.

[He just frowns and stays quiet a moment- he needs some time to let all this sink in. And by sink in I mean ponder then reject a few more times before he can accept it. Rotten, no good sorcery.] I have heard it said nothing is true. Perhaps this is simply further proof of that.

[He takes a closer look at the screen, wishing it were larger so that he could see this person better. The name and the foreign look of him reminds Cesare pointedly of Prince Djem and unfamiliar guilt stings.]

Rome? That is a long journey indeed. [Well that was pretty damn foreign, but at least he didn't speak in the same strange way of some of the people he had seen.]

[Part of the Ottomon Empire then. Did this man know of the Sultan Bayezid II? Unless like many here he was from a time far in the future of Cesare's own lifetime. In that case for all he knew the Empire no longer existed.
