[When the video turns on it's to a very displeased looking man, and apparently one who doesn't realize he just triggered the video function. He regardes the screen suspiciously for a few moments before huffing a sigh and just dropping his hand to his side. Everyone gets an exciting view of the dirt of field as he walks.]
This- this is too temperamental for Masyaf. If- [He freezes when something rustles. Oh look, a friendly scarecrow! Malik drops the dreamberry, making the view only of the scarecrow hobbling up. There's the ominous sound of a small blade being unsheathed.] What foul sorcery is this?
[Apparently the scarecrow has some fruit it wants to share, but by Malik's tone it doesn't sound like coming closer will be good for the scarecrow's health.]

Date: 2011-08-08 09:54 pm (UTC)I cannot say I have heard much of your home in return, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, but you describe mine well. I fear what answer I will get if I ask what year you hail from.

Very well, though I am afraid I do not know the name of the field I am in, brother. [He adds at the end, hoping to toss a hint of his own allegiance back- he was still wary of Ezio but he would rather have this discussion face to face.]

Date: 2011-08-09 07:02 pm (UTC)It at least gave him time to ponder all he has seen so far, including this Desmond Miles and now Ezio Auditore. He had to admit a certain sense of satisfaction in knowing even so far in the future their Order had stayed strong, despite the shambles it was in during his time. Perhaps Altair's ideas had more merit than he realized, all the ways he wanted to strengthen the order from within rather than compelling obedience.
When he made it to the cafe his thoughts were on his surroundings, taking in every detail he could and committing it to memory for later times. It was... strange but not so alien as the straw men had been.
He searches the tables and chairs for Ezio, approaching as he tucked the dreamberry into his belt. If he needed his hand free for defense then he would be ready, that was certain.]

My thanks, Ezio Auditore. [He offered, though now his suspicion was resurfacing.] You are the second man I have met claiming to be both from the future and the Order.

Date: 2011-08-11 12:42 am (UTC)He doesn't say anything while Ezio talks, watching him instead with an intent expression. It isn't until he mentions being Altair's most trusted friend that he lets out a soft snort, sitting back some. To think only a few years before he wanted the man dead, and now he was known for their friendship.]
Again and again Altair's descendants surprise me. Perhaps I am still too blinded by his past. Indeed now he is a man worthy of upholding the order. Still, his descendants are wiser and humbler than he was in his youth.
[And he looks back to Ezio.] It is something I considered, yes, the danger of what knowledge Desmond may hold - of even what you may hold for my own time. If we are here our enemies may be here- even then I do not know how this dream world may affect that of the waking. There are too many questions and very few facts that are strong enough to bring any ease.
[He frowns a bit when he thinks of the Apple.] ... If you wish to know, I will be honest. I do not trust this artifact, I do not trust such a great power in anyone's hands, even our own. We sacrificed much to obtain it, and in the end even in the hands of our allies, of our Master, it was in the wrong hands.
[He pauses, as if considering if he should say what he does next.] I worry there is something in it that damages it's user- perhaps a corruption even deeper than power. I can tell you what you already know, that you must get this artifact back in the waking world, or here- wherever it may be. What you do with it should it be returned to you- I hope you will be more cautious than Altair.
